We Made It!

Our trip to Spain was a success! We were a bit terrified that we would be those people on the plane with the endlessly crying baby, but Connor was a great traveler!
We started in Seville and Connor was THE YOUNGEST person out at the Semana Santa festivities. He actually loved being out with the thousands of Spaniards. Much more activity than being home with just his parents!
Connor met lots of his Spanish family in Seville including his cousins Alberto and Albertito, uncle Javi and Alvaro, who had come to town to participate in the Semana Santa parading, Elisa, aunt Lola, uncle Pepe, Guille, aunt Tere, Ramon, and Carlota (who happens to be a big fan of the Wood Times.) Semana Santa was beautiful and Connor loved the tapas bars. Ramon's girlfriend Leti threw a house party with balconies overlooking one of the parades, complete with a traditional serenading of the idols as they passed (You can watch the video here: video 1, video 2, video 3.)
Then we took a train down to Marbella, where Connor met his great-grandmother Carmela, his aunt Lucia, uncle Martin, cousins Ignacio and Isabella, great-aunt and uncle Lucia and Jose Luis, Chino, Lourdes, uncle Alberto, Marielo, and Elito. Connor enjoyed his first paella (which was awesome) and the kids had a great time hunting for Easter eggs! Then we drove up to Madrid with Mela's dad Carlos and Janette, and spent two days with Mela's sister Jeannie, Pablo, Aitana, Yago, and Nico. Also amazing steaks at a fine Argentinian restaurant where Connor met his cousins Gordi and Tillo.

It was a successful trip that was not nearly as busy as this makes it sound. Mostly hanging out with family and eating great food. Doesn't Connor look a little like his first-cousin Aitana at the same age?

You can see some more of our fun pictures of Spain HERE.
